Superior Colorado Rock Creek Subdivision in the distance |
Founded in 1896 and incorporated in 1904, Superior Colorado was named after the "superior" quality of the coal mined in the area. In 1987, land was subdivided for a new development known as Rock Creek Ranch. A newer subdivision named Sagamore has also been developed to the west.
Approximately 2,578 single family homes and 1,756 apartments/townhomes have been built in the town. Residents enjoy 170 acres of parks and open spaceā¦6.7 miles of trails.
Upscale shopping is just a few minutes away at the new Flatiron Crossing Mall, with a myriad of feature stores, including Nordstrom, restaurants, theaters, an outdoor village and services. Superior Marketplace has grown tremendously, with many retail outlets minutes from home.
