   What You Should Know Before You Purchase A Home
  
BUYING A HOME WITH A WELL
   1.  Research known water issues in the area through the EPA.
   2.  Test for water safety, purity, radon, flow rate, and storage capacity.
   3.  The average home needs 100 gallons per person per day and a
        minimum flow rate of 6 gallons per minute.  
   4.  Pump and pressure tank may need to be replaced every 15 years.
   5.  Calculate water storage…a traditional drilled well will store 1.5 gallons 
        of water per foot (6 inch pipe).
   6.  Water quality issues usually can be remedied with a proper filtering system.
   7.  Filtering system addition will normally decrease the water pressure.
   8.  Well should be a minimum of 100 feet apart from septic system.
