COSTLY MISTAKES BY PROPERTY SELLERS

1. Sellers who decide to sell their properties themselves or hire agents based

on friendship or discount commission rates versus hiring an agent on experience,

marketing expertise, property inspection resolutions, and negotiation skills.

2. Undervaluing national television advertising and brokerage international offices.

3. Overpricing…supposedly, just to “test the market”.

4. Making properties difficult to show…not ready to show…perhaps,

not removing troublesome pets.

5. Insisting on being at home. If necessary, not allowing potential buyers and

buyer agents total privacy for their conversations.

6. And yes, sellers usually do know more information about their own properties

than their agents; HOWEVER……

7. Not taking care of obvious repairs prior to placing properties on the market.

8. Unable to set aside emotions…unwilling to negotiate.

9. Having unrealistic expectations.
